Furnaces

All furnaces, even the most reliable, need routine maintenance. Without it, the efficiency of your furnace will go down, and the likelihood of needed repairs will go up. Upkeep and pro-active replacements can help ensure your energy bills are low and that you’re less likely to ever be dealing with a furnace on the fritz.

Air Conditioners

All equipment, even the most reliable, needs routine maintenance. Without regular maintenance, an air conditioner loses about 5% of its original efficiency for each year of operation. The good news is that you can recover most of that lost efficiency through regular maintenance or in worse cases a pro-active replacement.

Heat Pumps & Mini Split Systems

Heat pumps can be ducted or ductless. We can help you find a solution suitable to the systems that may already be installed in your home. We also deal in Mini Splits, which are good for homes that need a zoning style. Mini Splits are small, massively efficient, and much quieter than traditional split air equipment.

Water Heaters

It’s important to clean, maintain and regularly service your residential water heater. A properly maintained water heater can run efficiently for 15 years or more. For water heaters with storage tanks, you’ll want to partially drain the tank a few times per year in order to remove debris and sediment. Be sure to test the temperature pressure relief valve every year and check the sacrificial anode rod once every 3 years.

Frequent Questions

u

How often should I check my air filter?

We suggest checking filters monthly. If you have a disposable type filter, (these usually have a cardboard edge), and if it is dirty, just replace it. Don’t attempt to clean it. Some higher efficiency 1″ pleated air filters can go up to three months before needing replacement. But in the higher-use seasons, it’s better to check more often.

u

Why do I need a humidifier?

Maintaining proper and consistent humidity is also important for the wood inside your home; flooring, doors, and even pianos can shrink, crack, and warp if not properly humidified.

Energy savings is another benefit of keeping the proper humidity level. You will actually feel warmer and more comfortable in humidified air, so you can turn your thermostat down about 2 degrees (saving money), and still feel just as warm. Seriously, it works!

u

Should I have my air ducts cleaned?

Many people have allergic reactions to pollen, bacteria, dust mites, and animal dander. Allergies including hay-fever and asthma affect 41 million Americans or about one out of six people.

u

What is better: Gas, Electric or Oil?

Well, there is no single, correct answer. It depends really on a bunch of factors, such as… cost, comfort, efficiency, maintenance, reliability, availability. Each system has its own unique advantages and disadvantages. Call us to find out which system is best for you!
